Q Chat has product-specific Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy. Those pages govern Q Chat’s app-specific use and data handling; this page covers our corporate website and business communications. Read both when using both services.
1. Q Chat and age eligibility
Current scope: Q Chat: Connect, Help, Belong (com.q.qchat) version 2.0.0 is designed as a text-only open beta for people 16 years and older. It offers four fixed rooms for friends, communities, business, and local buy/sell conversations. This next beta is in development; public release and end-to-end validation are not yet confirmed. The existing Play listing covers earlier releases. Media uploads, private matching, posts, referrals, Q Coins, passes, subscriptions, and purchases are unavailable in this beta.
Messages are encrypted on your device before ciphertext enters a temporary Supabase relay. Q Chat and Supabase can access the server-readable room key, so the beta is not end-to-end encrypted. Outgoing plaintext is processed by temporary Supabase Edge rule checks before encryption, alongside on-device checks; received text is checked again on-device. These reduced checks can miss harmful content and are not specialist safety-provider approval.
Q Chat uses 16+ self-attestation for room admission; sign-in is not verified identity or age. The company website does not impose an app-wide 18+ requirement. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 16; contact us if a child has supplied it.
2. Website and inquiry information
Website hosting and network services receive connection data such as IP address, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps for delivery, reliability, and security. Fonts are self-hosted and do not contact Google Fonts. The theme preference is stored in your browser’s localStorage; clear site data to reset it. This company site does not embed analytics or advertising tracking scripts.
Contact links open a draft in your email application. Opening a draft does not send it or submit information to a website database. If you send the email, we and our email provider receive your name, email address, subject, message, and any information you include. Do not include passwords, payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Project inquiries may include your organization, requirements, and correspondence. If you commission work, a separate agreement or processing notice may describe project-specific information.
3. Purposes and legal grounds
We use inquiry information to answer questions, assess requested work, provide support, maintain business records, and protect our services. Where applicable, the legal grounds are steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, legitimate interests in service security and managing business correspondence, and compliance with legal obligations. Optional marketing requires consent where applicable and can be declined or withdrawn.
5. Retention and security
We retain inquiries for as long as needed to answer them, carry out requested work, resolve disputes, and meet applicable business, tax, security, or legal recordkeeping obligations. The nature of the inquiry, ongoing relationship, and unresolved claims determine that period. Hosting logs and provider backups have separate lifecycles. We use access restrictions and reasonable security safeguards, but no service or email system is perfectly secure.
Q Chat deletion removes active hosted account data while safety reports, review records, and participants’ cached copies can remain. It does not promise a 30-day recovery window. See Q Chat account deletion for the in-app and email routes.
6. Choices and requests
Email support@qiutechnologies.com to request access, correction, a portable copy, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of optional consent, or an applicable sale/sharing opt-out. Rights depend on your jurisdiction and the processing involved. We may verify account control or an authorized agent’s authority, respond within applicable legal time limits, and explain any refusal. You may request review of a refusal and complain to your data-protection authority. We do not retaliate for exercising these rights.
For Q Chat, hosted beta export, consent-history, opt-out, and deactivation controls are not available in-app; use support. In-app hosted account deletion remains available. Optional Q Chat newsletter requests should identify the subscribed email address.
7. Changes
We update the date on this page when the notice changes, provide appropriate notice of material changes, and request consent where required. Continued use alone does not replace consent for optional processing.
